  Mekoth Temple                                                  It is situated at Chemmarathur, which is 9km away from Vatakara Town. Mekoth, Is an ancestral temple that is Run and Maintained by Kappali Family Trust, this temple has a great history and divinity. Paradevatha(Vettakoru Makan) who is considered as the son of Lord Siva, is worshipped here in this Temple.  Several Festivals Takes Place in This Temple, one of the important festivals celebrated here is Thira.  Thira is a two days festival which includes several rituals, the festival season in this temple falls in between the 10-15th of February. Mega Feast, Flag Hoisting, Elaneer Varavu, Theyyam are some of the main Functions of this festival. 

  Kunjali Marakkar Museu m   Kunjali Marekkar Museum was originally the house of a legendry Warrior of Youth who fought valiantly against the Portuguese army. The Kunjali Marakkar is Located about 5 km from Payyoli, at Kotakkal near Pudhanpadam.   Sargalaya-Craft Village.                    Sargalaya is a 20-acre arts and crafts village in Irrigal, Vatakara, Kozhikode district  Kerala. It was established on 19 February 2011 by The Kerala Tourism Department and was inaugurated by Mr Kodeyeri Balakrishnan.                                  Sargaalaya has over 60 stalls selling various ethnic crafts and it also houses The Crafts Design and Technology development center, which provides training for craftsmen to learn new techniques in traditional handicrafts.  Sargalaya International Arts and Crafts Festival  The Annual Sargalaya International Arts and Crafts Festival is held here from December 20 to January 5. The 2016 Sargalaya Festival had over 350 artisans all over the world for the Festival. It is also considered to be South Indias Biggest Handicraft Fair. Vatakara               Vatakara , also spelled as  Vadakara (formerly Badagara), is a coastal town in Kozhikode district in the state of Kerala, India. It is situated between the famous towns of Koilandi and Thalassery.   Geography Vatakara is located at  11.60°N 75.58°E  and has an average elevation of 15 m (49 ft).  It is situated about 49 km to the north of  Kozhikode  City, approximately 44 km to the south of  Kannur  City, and adjacent to  Mahé .  The town lies by the side of a river variously called the Moorad River, the  Kuttiady  river, or the Kottakkal river.  Towards the east, near the panchayats of  Nadapuram  and Kuttiady, Vadakara borders the  Wayanad district  along the  Western Ghats  section.
